I'm hoping to find someone with experience using the flyhawk 1/700 Essex photo-etch set. Specifically, the 5"/38 open mount gun assemblies. The instructions (I think) are bit vague, and I'm not satisfied that the finished product is correct. I'm having issues with fit, and the exposed detail, after assembling the 2 opposing gun supports. Also, I'm unclear regarding some of the folds (rectangular details on each piece).

During my research I was fortunate enough to find a series of 30 photographs posted by Vladimir Jakubov, which detail a 5"/38 open mount aboard one of the US aircraft carrier museums (not sure which one though). Many thanks to him. For those interested, the link is below:
