Say you are following a thread, you get to the end and want to put in your two cents. There is a reply button in the last post, there is a reply button in the black bar beneath the last post, and there is a reply button in the blue area underneath the black bar. Yes, three options.

Could someone clarify the use of the various reply buttons? Or are they all equal in their effect? Why so many reply buttons?

You can reply to the topic by clicking the reply button at the very bottom, or, you can reply to a specific comment by clicking reply on that person's commment. This makes a notation in the database that you replied to that person specifically and is there in the event we ever support a nested view of comments and replies.

The extra reply at the bottom is there for no real reason... an extra!
