model? I would like some feedback before
I buy.
As always, thanks

It was originally issued during the late 50's/early 60's by ITC.
Basic kit, with work and some references it turns out nice.
Scale is about 1/74, so you can get by crewing it with 1/72 scale figures if you like.
Look for it on sale, as the list price is, I feel, a little high for what you get.

Hello Scott,
I am doing one for the WW1 Warship campaign over at MSW. Mine came with most of the parts loose and there is a lot of flash to clean off so far. The cast is looking clean so far to me.
I posted some photo's of the parts in the thread, So you can see them if you want.
I have not started on the superstructure yet. Maybe next week for that.
I decide to paint it in all over gray, So I do not have to do the deck in the 2-3 colors it stated to do it.
I hope this helps you and let me know if I can help you in any way.
Cheers,
Bruce

Hello Scott, The bigest problem with that kit is that it was intended to be motorized. So there is one large opening for a single prop shaft. The original Sub-chaser had either two, or three shafts. I can't remember for sure but I think it was three props. The other issue with the hull is that the hull numbers are molded on and need to be removed. These problems are fixable and the Glencoe kit is the only game in town if you want a Sub-chaser. Garth Connelly has a Squadron book that was just released which covers Sub-chasers. I believe it covers that ship as well as the WW2 SC's. With a little TLC the Glencoe kit can turn out very well. Al

Thanks Bruce, it does help. Just wondering, do you have any photos
of your model? I'd love to see it!
Many thanks,
