Filler

Just wondering what people recommend as filler, especially for wingroot gaps on aircraft? I've used Revell Plasto, but it seems very brittle and doesn't really take to rescribing panel lines without chipping off. Is Milliput ok? Or Mr Surfacer?

I use Bondo one part spot putty for forming and filling; and Mr. Surfacer 500 and 1000 for fine part seams and scratches.

Yep the autobody 1 part stuff works great and the tube is cheap when compared with Squadron putty or any others.
you could try the brush on White out on aircraft.

I've had good luck with the Miliput and discount store versions of Bondo in a tube. Part of the trick with the bondo is to have good tools for spreading it into the plastic since its solvent will attack the plastic. I haven't had great luck with bondo on feather edges either, so I usually use it on big gaps. I've also used CA and Mr. Surfacer on smaller spots.
I have seen folks talk up a blue autobody filler from GE (Blue Acryl?) but I've never used it.
Good luck!

The Bondo / Autobody stuff in question is a 1 part in a tube filler... not the traditional 2 part you might be thinking of.

For plastic, sprue dissolved in liquid (Tamiya) cement. For metal, Milliput, CA or J-B Weld.

Personally I've used Squadron White putty in the past with good results. Blending it in with acetone or plastic glue.
I've only ever done small projects so 1 tube did me fine, but I guess if you had a lot to do there would be cheaper alternatives as others have suggested.
