Hey all, I thought I would put up some pics of my newest building. It is not finished yet but is close. The beams are balsa and the in fill is cork. This building is fast and easy to put together, I have about 4 hours in it right now. I dont know if I will make a dio with it or sell it, I dont really have room for more dio's. Well here is the webaddress:

The pics are under the "German House" icon, and as always tell me what you think I need to do or change to make it better.
Thanks

Was just in and looked and was very impressed. Did you build this house to a reference picture? Looks great. I thought a lot of these buildings were solid or bricked in the first storey and had the lighter timber frames only on the upper levels. Will you include this house in the diorama being built on the other file?
I looked through there as well. One thing I noticed is from the first 3 houses, to the small house and gavel, and now to this 3rd house how your building skills have developed. The first 3 were sort of 2D, but the next 2 are first class. But the first 3 have improved a lot since I last saw them with windows, doors and roofs .. it has added so much.
I especially like the small house and gavel ...... man that makes me want to give all this a go.
The only nit-pick I have of all the scenes is that the paving bricks for the road are very big. This cant be very common.
Thanks for giving us the insight to your building ...... gives me an urge to start some dio work again. All the best

Plastic, thanks for the kind words. The German house is being built from my mind, no referance pics. I dont know what I am going to do with it, I might end up selling it.
As far as the street pavers go, I did a google search and came up with a pic that had the whole street paved with large pavers. I also got a hold of a company that sells old pavers from the 1900's and I used the dimentions from them to scale down to 1:35 scale.

On my second dio, that was the most common reply that the pavement stones were too big! I did no research ..... just thought it was too much hassle to cut so many small squares out. Its just not that common ........ so therefore some assume its wrong.
But the dio looks great anyway ....... and if you decide to sell the house .. good luck!

All I do is paint the cork and it comes out looking like stucco. I have put a small amount of spackle on it befor too, but it dosnt make much difference.

Looking very good. What thickness is the cork? I want to try using cork. I have used plaster but cork looks much easier.
