Yo, Godfadda,,,,,
Keep your eyes open
I've been able to get this from several common sources. SOme, like the outer foil around wine bottles are no more, but from thin (tin foil from the grocery store) to other packing or protection material is right around the courner if you keep your eyes open.
That said, if you really want to buys this stuff (I've done this also, so do not worry), here is some sources from a well know supplier:
Legend Productions Accessory Set
Techstar Accessories & Tools (VLS) Lead Foil .008 3x3
Lead Foil .016 3x3
Lead Foil .024 3x3
VLS also makes slome of these same sheets in larger formats, but search there site or contact them for exact items #'s

Electrical tape works too. Easier to get. Buit lead foil is nice especially for straps and slings.

Bella Serra, not to be confused with the undertaker, Bonaserra, from The Godfather , still uses foil to seal the bottle. The wine is pretty good, too.

I find foil from coffee & yogurt containers work's just as well and I feel using masking tape is also a good idea. But if you want to put out some money here is a link to Great Models Website. Just click on " DATA BASE " in the left hand column and enter LEAD FOIL in the search box. http://www.greatmodels.com/

Another possible source is your local golf equipment store. Some golfers use lead tape to alter the swingweight of their clubs. It comes in different thicknesses, but the rolls of lead tape are pretty thin. It's also backed with a fairly strong adhessive - got to be strong to hold on to a wet clubhead that's moving at 100+ mph through grass, sand, and dirt.

You can get loads of it free from your dentist. Just ask him for the backing foil from the xrays, which he would normally throw away or recycle. I have about four pounds of the stuff now and that is like a lifetime supply for me.

I bought a roll from this place. Do a product search for "lead foil", and you will get the info on it.

A wine shop can help too. Buy a nice bottle of wine, drink it and use the lead foil around its neck for your modeling needs...

Go to Canadian Tire or a similar store and look for mufler tape. You could also ask you dentist for some of the backing from his xrays. I agree that for seat belts, straps and the like, yogurt foil works quite well.

This month Squadron had some on sale, you have a few more days left to get in on it. I will have to hit up the dentist next time I go.

You can also use the one from the shaving cream tubes like Noxzema or Palmolive or similar...
