Yesterday my wife and I went down to Peterson A.F.B. here in Colorado Springs to witness my daughter taking the oath to join the Air Force Reserve. Due to be screwed over by another recruiter she won't be able to go to boot camp until July. Now Mom and I have to start saving for a trip to San Antonio in September to see her graduate from boot camp.

Her maternal Grandfather was Air Force even before it was Air Force and served for 30 plus years. I know he will be proud of her.

My son leaves for Germany in a few days (as a US Army PFC 92Y-supply clerk). I don't have the heart to tell him he is almost guaranteed a trip to the stan.

Congratulations Rodger. I know you're proud. Yeah, the recruiter didn't do here any favors by having go through basis in July in San Antonio... I've trained at Camp Bullis a time or two there. At any rate, there's a lot to do down that way. I'm sure your wife will want to do the River Walk.
There sure seem to be a lot of us on here with a connection to the Springs. My duty station is Ft. Carson.
