I've picked up a few magazines but wondered but what folks here thought.

I'm focused on AFV's right now but probably would build some planes and space (real and imaginary).

I've liked almost all I've seen but wonder what folks feel the best one is.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to suscribe to Fine Scale Modeler but I've really liked Military Miniatures In Review and Military Modeling International

Agreed! Having said that I'll occaisionally pick up FSM at the newsagents.

If you're interested in sci-fi, www.starshipmodeler.net is a good site/forum

Cheers,

My personal two "best" are Military Miniatures in Review (MMiR) and AFV Modeller but that said both are more directed at the advanced modeling crowd (and AFV Modeller has become just ridiculously expensive here in the States).
For someone just starting out Fine Scale Modeler (FSM) would be my suggestion. It's comparatively inexpensive and is intended more for the beginner/intermediate hobbyist.
I subscribed from its introduction to the mid-1990's and still pick up a copy every now and then.
