I have seen ACUTR before a bunch of Blogs and even a campaign. What does ACUTR stand for/mean? I am guessing it means scratchbuilt or something along those lines.
Thanks

A - scratchbuilding
C- learning to scratchbuild
U- asking questions about scratchbuilding
T- begging for parts from other members to use on your scratchbuilt project
R- digging through garbage and stealing stuff from work to use for scratchbuilding.

Seriously, I don't think anyone really knows Evan. I think it stood for something at one time but I believe it's mainly about learning and sharing about scratchbuilding.

ACUTR was a campaign that, originally, was started by our late, great BARV to push the scratchbuilder in each of us to whip something up. I have no idea what A.C.U.T.R stood for, or, what it stands for now, even while running the ACUTR Again, Salute to Steve Sr. campaign myself.
What it is, is it's a campaign to get folks to scratchbuild a part, section or a whole subject and share how they did it. There are so many small ways to scratch out a part to enhance your kits or to just cut some plastic and create your own model. This campaign encourages it and provides some social imput in the form of help and advice from fellow modelers.

Hope this helps,
Cuhail

Just before the first scratchbuild campaign, which I didn't complete my project in time, the late BARV came up with that.
He wrote that it stood for A CUT (Above The) Rest.
I've never met BARV but seeing his work and reading his posts, I'm sure it was meant to be said in the most non condescending manner.

Hey Ko

You are so right !!!!!!!! I had met Steve (BARV) and was so pleased I did. The guy was a master of the itchy scratchy builds and had so much time for everyone.

Now I know what ACUTR means !!!!!!!

Steve certainly was ACUTR. To Steve, the Steve juniors and family
