Does anyone have a good way to thin green stuff? I tried acetone, with mixed results, as it sometimes melts the plastic. I tried alcohol, but that didn't seem adequate. Is there another way, or am I doing something wrong?

Any and all help/advice is most welcome.

Thanks to all shipmates,

I've had the best luck thinning Squadron green putty with Testors (PACTRA) laquer thinner.

I just use generic hardware store lacquer thinner. I have, in the past, used Testors (pink label) liquid cement too.

As for melting the plastic, if you apply it in thin layers, it's not really a problem.

Let me third the lacquer thinner and second the liquid cement, both work well.
A third option that I use often is cutting it with Mr. Surfacer 1000 or 1200 which works great for reproducing textures for either rolled or cast armor.

I've always thinned my putties with old fashion Testors liquid cement. Never had any problems.
