I have a Weller Solder Station with an adjustable thermostat. If I use a fine enough tip, would it work for soldering PE?
Otherwise, what tool seems to be the most popular for doing this?
thanks

Hi David,
Although a late reply but I can tell you first hand that you have the right tool for PE soldering. Fine tips are great and are fairly important when trying to solder these things together. The key to soldering is flux. I pretty much pre-tin all the parts and then (with a clean tip) and some flux on the area just apply heat and the parts are soldered. Pretty easy now that I've done it quite a few times but the more you practice the better you'll get.
HTH,
Rob

i'm trying to learn how to do this myself (thanks for the tips Rob). be prepared for some experiments... this is not easy at a first go. make some try-outs on left over PE parts
