In this Tips N' Tricks of Model Kit Building, I show how you can take used coffee grounds and recycle them into ground or terrain for your base or diorama project.

You can watch the video by clicking HERE.

Thank you for watching.

Nice video. I do a variation of this by nuking the grounds dry before storage. Gives a nice smell to the kitchen too. When I use them for ground cover, they are usually mixed with a little fine sand, some drywall tapers mud, and some acrylic burnt umber. This gives a nice winter frozen ground or deep forest winter floor effect. If the coffee grounds are still too coarse after drying, throw them back into the grinder and buzzz 'em up a little.
Cheers!

Thank you for the complement and for how you go about recycling used coffee grounds.

Everyone has their own ways of doing things.

The more people can share their knowledge, the more people will be interested.

Thanks again.

I mix my grounds with tea leaves, and silver birch leaves. Makes for a very convincing gorund cover. Doesn't smell all that bad either. "Q"

I know most diorama builders build in 1/35, but I've heard of coffee grounds used in 1/25 as asphalt roadways. I haven't tried it yet, but now I just might.
