Hi everyone! Anyone out there built the 1/72 Special Navy Type 11 U-boat? I just received mine, and am waiting for the PE set to arrive from AMP. The modifications look pretty daunting.
I'd appreciate any pointers, advice, and/or research material, especially photos of the type 11A, (I'm modelling the U-1).

Thanks in advance all,

Fathom

First of all I would reccomend that you check in at our navy oriented site

http://modelshipwrights.kitmaker.net/

here you can finde a review of the boat: http://modelshipwrights.kitmaker.net/review/3554

The wooden deck: http://modelshipwrights.kitmaker.net/review/3544

and the amp etch set: http://modelshipwrights.kitmaker.net/review/4453

And finally a tread where I build the boat (U6)

By the way, do you still have an extra copy of the book? I don't have
One and am willing to by yours, if you still have it.

Great job on your model!

Thanks again,
Scott

You are most welcome Scott.

No, the book is gone, sorry.

You might be able to find it on amazon.

The AMP set can look a bit scary, but its really great and is gifted with propably the best instructions I have seen - ever!

Cheers/Jan

I'm expecting my AMP set to arrive today. It does sound impressive. Would it be ok to e-mail you questions directly about this build.. As you know there are many changes to be made and I'm not sure if I have that level of experience yet. I' have recently (2years) returned to our hobby and am taking things slowly.

Thanks again,
Scott
