Which compressor pressure?

Just sprayed some colour today... I usually work around 2.5-3bar=30-45psi... what about you?

Mostly between 10 and 20 psi. I'm not sure, but I think I've never needed to go below ten.

hmm 30-45 sounds a lot to me. i usually go with 2-5 for details, 8-10 for surfaces

Yep, I'm surprised the model doesn't get blown off the work surface at those pressures!
Giacomo-- what brand/type of airbrush are you using? What kind of compressor are you using? Are you confusing your tank pressure for your regulator pressure?
Simple/General rule of thumb----- the thinner the paint, the less pressure you need to atomize it. (proper spray pattern)
The lower the pressure, the closer you can get to you work, without splatter/spider webbing, or the paint drying in the air-- the dreaded pebbly surface.

5 to 15 for me with a Paasch and an Aztek airbrushes. The finer the detail the lower the pressure.
