Hi.

I'm looking for information of what type of refuelling vehicles the RAF/BEF would have been using during the 1940's prior to the fall of France?

I'm hoping to do a dio of a Hurricane being refuelled, and am looking to use the accurate armour AEC Matador truck. It's a 2500 gallon truck, mainly for Bomber Command, but in the final panic to refuel prior to leaving i feel that it would have been land any where to get fuel!!

Thanks in Advance.

Thanks Paul.

I'm not sure what vehicle they are either, looks like it might me a Morris truck, but I wouldn't stake my life on it.

Andy

According to Bruce Robertson in Wheels of the RAF (pages 107-108) "by 1939, three main types of refueller were in use; the four-wheel Albion AM463, the six-wheel Morris Y1 and the Karrier C." On page 108 there is a drawing of an Albion tanker as shown in Paul's photographs.

Matador Models make the Albion in both 1:48 and 1:72 scales:

Hope this helps.

Paul.

I'm sure you know, but Dartmoor Military Models do some great white metal ground crew figures.
