I am building my first real kit. A 1/35 scale M3A1 Half-track from Dragon's '39-'45 series that I plan to use in a diorama. Should I paint as I go or fully assemble then paint? I can see benifits and problems with both. Any other tips you can think of for a new modeler on the block will be appreciated. Either reply to this post or email me [email protected]
Thanks
Shannon

As it's your FIRST build (Congrats, BTW!) I would have to say paint most parts while still on the sprues. Keep in mind you'll need to scrape the surface to be glued before gluing, but, on the whole, I think it will serve you better.
When you're more set up for the process, you can change the technique, but, for a first kit. Paint parts first.
My advice.
Welcome to KitMaker, man!

If you do paint 1st I would try and snip off a connector or two (leaving enough to hold the part to the sprue). This will help reduce the cleanup/touchup later.
It is ultimately what youre comfortable with, there is no 'right or wrong' way.
Welcome and keep us posted on your build.
