I was wondering how many hours on average do people spend working on kits during a week, month, or year? With the winter months coming I suspect I will get more time than other times of the year.

I can get up to 4 to 6 hours on weekends currently but during the weekdays it is hit and miss.

At the moment, its really hit or miss.
I can sometimes get a lot of time over a short period of time, but the rest of the time, the amount of free time im getting is dwindling fast. Even when i have an hour or so, I feel tired and not really wanting to model .... just vegitate in front of the telly or the computer.

I put in about 8 hours during the week and 10 or so on the weekends. There are times were I'll just in around the hobby room and watch TV or read a new book.

Happy Modeling,

I put in maybe 12 hours a week. I like to make task lists for my model builds and try to cross off one thing every evening, even if it only takes 15 minutes. Every few weekends I will put in a 10 or 12 hour day, usually involving a bunch of airbrush work.

I get 2 every tuesday, my dedicated modelling evening (very recommended, avoids discussions with the wife...). Weekends maybe 2-6 more. Not counting armorama-time...

If I'm lucky I get 5-6 hours in, sometimes a couple more if I score a quiet weekend.

Good question. For me, I'd say 2 to 3 hours each week. There are those days that even if I have some time to dedicate to the hobby I don't as I want to do other things (watch TV, play comp games, surf the net, etc). I'm finding out that I really have to be motivated if I want to work on kits. Most days nowadays I find myself not in the mood...

I'm glad the question was modelling time and not time spent on Armorama

A good week for me is about 3/4 hr per night and maybe a 2-3hour solid stretch one afternoon on the weekend. Now Armorama, other websites that either involve modelling or sudoku games take 3-4 hours per night

Sometimes when I am heading off to bed around 1.00am (my usual night) I look over at my modelling bench and think "Gee if only I could break this internet addiction I stand a chance of finishing my stash before I die."

1 to 2 hours an evening, 2 or 3 evenings a week, so between 2 and 6 hours a week...
