what type? 75mm low bussel, 75mm high bussel, 76mm T23...firefly?

I might be able to help if I know which one. ...or tell me what kit it is you built the sherman from and ill know which turret you need.

Its been so long sine I built the kit tho I do know that it was a 75mm gue nad oh yea the kit is 1-35
I drove a sherman in the national guards but the tank that I drive had a double AA pom pom gun I believe the actual shermans name was the M42A1
Gave up looking for that kit seems that that varation of the sherman was specially built for our outfits
but would love to build Ol' Bessy the way that I drove er yars ago!!!
any way it really doesnt matter I can make the turret fit no matter which kit it came from

thanks guys

hey larry,

ok, sounds like you drove a M42 Duster..which was based on the M41 light tank (chaffe)

is this it?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M42_Duster

if your just interested in building one, Taymia makes a old kit that you can probally find for pretty cheap. AFV club was supposed to be comming out with one sometime...

so its not a sherman you are after.
hope this helps a bit

wasn't a duster
my mos in the 60s classified me as a sherman driver and tho it is simular its not the tank that I qualified in
our outfit at the time was slated to be the SC staging point if columbia was bombed te shermans (only 10 were built in secret) for our special use and we were very deadly with the DPs

we never missed ad we could bring down what ever flew at the time

interesting....use of old surplus sherman chassis...probally HVSS hulls from korea war era. Might a M42 turret have been placed on top?

do you remember if your turret was fully inclosed or open topped?

mmm
