Hi.

I looking for a good way to make my own star pickets / Y posts. I have an idea using styrene strip but if you know of a good method I would be grateful.

If it's just a garden stake I'd look to see if there was a premade plastuct or evergreen available. Also the scale is going to affect the method. 1/35 is pretty small for what I see in this search

Thanks for replying Scott. They're not your normal garden stake although I have a few holding some trees up. Here's a couple of pictures

Neither Plastruct nor Evergreen have anything that matches.

This, my fine, modeling friend, is going to be one of those instances where you're going to have to go outside the modeling genre to find your material. This may have to be "Scrounged material" and found in an obscure place.
I have a bin or two in my "spares box" that are filled with bits and stuff from alarm clock parts, old lighters, old electronic bits, and the like. This is the kind of stuff that's going to have to be made into your star stakes.
Maybe some very small bits of wire or something you'd find in the beading and jewelry section at Hobby Lobby or similar stores.
What it all comes down to is there isn't an equivalent to this IN the modeling genre, so, adaptation is the trick.

A "Tee" shape may work if you try to bend one leg of it. Plastruct does offer some.
