I have 4 models built to the best of my ability and now I want to show them off. I know I can do a diorama but im not that good yet..I can put them in a showcase and keep them at home, which is what ive been doing for the past 12 years.. but I want the public to see them. What is the best way to get my models out on the spotlight??

Hi 19Delta, this forum is one way to show your models. Mine rarely saw the light of day but I managed to get someone to take pics with a digi camera of my latest project and posted them here. It is a great way to show your work to other modelers and get feedback.

Get yourself an account in Armorama's MSN group(or other photo storage such as sony imagestation....most are free), file your photos there, and you can share them with us here on the site, or post them wherever else you can online.

I don't know if you've ever been to a model show/contest, that's another great place to show your stuff. They're usually not too much money to enter (I think I paid $10 for up to 5 kits?) and you don't have to worry about trying to win, but you might! Many times they also have a table for display only which takes the thoughts of competition out of the picture completely.

Another non-competitive venue to show off you work are club meetings. Here's a link (links aren't working today) to IPMS www.ipmsusa.org and go to the IPMS Groups and Contests button on the left then click the link to Chapter & RC Directory. Click on Michigan to see the local IPMS clubs. If you're near the border of MI, you could also check the nearby states at this same site. Also, check your local hobby store for any non-IPMS clubs that may be near you. As good as the information you can get here on-line, sitting down with someone and talking about specific techniques can help you grow in your skills tremendously. Don't be afraid to stop in a club meeting. We were all first timers once.

Our model club used to have a display in the local hobby/model store. Now it is closed we have moved them to Toys'R'Us which is the only place loeft in town selling models. We also put a display in thee local library for a couple of weeks each year.
You might be able to try something similar.

I have posted several pictures on here of my models. I have a digital camera and a photo place to put up my pictures. The web thing is a good start for now, I do want to start getting into the club scene, theres an airshow coming to my airbase and there usually a few groups there so Ill check it out
