Anyone used Klear as a wash before? Any feedback?

used it to clean my airbrush, works a treat. Not used it as a wash...

ok - I tried it last night. Decided to use it as a wash for the cockpit & engine crackcase of my 1/72 F4u1A Tamiya Corsair which has very good detail for this scale.

The internal areas were spray painted interiror green a few days ago.

I added some black poster to some clear as clear is waterbased too I think. It worked great.

I overdid it the first time round and when it was still wet, washed off completely with running water, giving me the chance to do it over correctly. Excess wash/klear was removed with a piece of tissue paper.

The wash flowed nicely into the crevices & interior panels.

I did a yellowish wash for the foot pedal areas (as seen in colour photos where the green had fadded). Nice end result.

For the crackcase - a combination of black then brown wash was applied - two toned "used" engine effect.

Needless to say I will be using klear as a wash in more of my projects from now on
