Hi

I am looking for a suitable replacement for Model Masters Red Putty.

The tube I got 5 years ago is about to run out and to my dismay, it is no longer produced.

I love this stuff, is easy to apply, sands well, does not shrink, and can be let down with MEK. In fact, I am using MEK to get extend my tube's life.

Nothing that I have tried comes close to these properties.

Thanks

Ian

Have you tried "red lead", Bondo Glazing and Spot Putty? It's all I use. Make sure you get the one part stuff.
It's intended for auto body repair but is outstanding for model work.
You can get it at any auto parts store or Wal-Mart.

I visited my local Schukes and bought a tube of Bondo Glazing and Spot Putty, item no 907

Opening the tube I am greated with the same smell as the Model Master putty and yes, when I squeeze it out, its the same shade of Red ! It even spreads the same, I guess its the same

Thanks for pointing in the right direction and at 3 bucks 79 worth every penny .

Thanks again

Ian
