I am after suggestions on how to construct steps, as in a street scene, with steps rising into the distance. I am hoping to build an Arab diorama. 1/35th.

Are steps not always rising into the distance?
Anyway, take 5 mm Balsa or any other stuff and build them up, starting with the longest and reducing the lenght by some 7 mm for every other.
You should calculate that depending on the height and distance to cover.
Drawing it first on paper is the best solution.

Claude, thank you for your prompt reply. I know...steps rise, but I was attempting to create a word picture of a photograph I have of a narrow Moroccan street...with steps rising into the distance. Maybe I should learn to scan onto the forum. No...first things first. I must learn how to make steps.
By the by, your CV in model making is impressive, so your input is more than appreciated.
