The authors Kuno Gross, Roberto Chiarvetto and Brendan O'Carroll traveled to Libya last year to retrace the route of the LRDG patrol which had attacked an Italian airbase and Kufra oasis; more importantly they visited the between the LRDG and CA which is perfectly preserved because it is so isolated (from that perspective it is almost a perpetual reenactment
) .The book has some really good background to the special forces involved, the actions leading to the fight and to the battle itself; plus it details two trips to the battlesite with some great photos of well preserved LRDG trucks and Italian relics.
