A friend at work asked me to build models of the ships he served on in the Navy. I am looking for ships (all in the same scale, preferably) CVN75, LHD3, AD and FF. I know I have seen CVN and LHD, but not really sure of any AD's and FF's. Being a treadhead, I have no idea on this. Any help is greatly appriciated.

well,
I am not an expert in US navy terms, I know that CVN is a nuclear carrier and aDD a destroyer, but there it stops
Best is to use your search engine and type the name of the class of the ships, e.g "Nimitz class" or "Arleigh Burke class" and add the term 1:350 or 1:700 depending on the scale you want. You could also ask the guys on Modelshiwrights, or at modelwarships.com or steelnavy.com
hope this helps

Trumpeter now do most of the Nimitz class CVN's in 1/700. You can also get the Arleigh Burke's and I'm sure I've seen Spruance's and Oliver Hazard Perry's all in 1/700 too. I know there are resin manufacturer's that do otehr modern USN ships too. Not sure about 1/350 as I only do 1/700 myself.
thanks

Thanks for the replies! I'm looking for anything in either 1/350 or 1/700. He wants them to be in the same scale. I'll keep looking.

An LHD is an amphibious assault ship. An AD is a destroyer tender. An FF is a frigate. Don't know about available models though. Sorry.
