If you google "katchme999" it specifically says it's on kitmaker. I'd rather it not.

I 'googled' mvfrog, and found 7 pages of entries...every post I have ever responded to on this site was there. I don't know how to stop it, but I do not like it happening. I don't have problems with anyone here on the site, but it's too much information to just have out there. I would not unsubscribe from the site, because it's a great place. I don't know how to solve the problem of information gatherers.

Thanks,
Matt

Big news people: If you use the internet, Google will find you.
It searches the web for whatever word is plugged into the browser so if someone's looking for 'katchme999' or 'mvfrog', any page with those words will come up.
The only way to avoid this is to either not use the internet forums or web pages that you leave responses that require a name or ID
Or pick such a common ID name that it finds millions of pages with that word/name on it. (for instance if your User ID were 'Lightbulb', chances are there would be millions of associated pages using the word lightbulb)

Try googleing your personal phone number with area code.............

I don't know what the big deal is. I googled my name at college because I was simply bored and my Avatar came up and a link to my kitmaker profile. There isn't any harm in it.

Even if you unsubscribe somehow, wont the stuff you posted still be there?

First off there is no 'unsubscribe' feature built into the software (or most other forum/social network software). You registered and in doing so you were required to create a username and supply a valid email (which is not viewable to public). Everything else, your real name, emails, contacts, etc you provide on your own accord. Some people actually like to be able to search and find their stuff on the net.

If someone like the poster of this topic has some need to change their username to something less connected to other uses on the net, then I can do that with limited difficulties. However as I have said in the past I don't delete accounts as there is no process built into the software for doing that effectively. It leaves errors and holes all over the site if you have joined campaigns, posted, etc.

Thanks,
Jim

I have got luck - as Jupiter was a Roman god flinging bolts (Blitze), my name is not connected that much with armorama.
