I'm working on the reissued AMT Enterprise E and have spent a great deal of time masking off the raised panels with latex and tape. It suddenly occured to me that the "hairspray" technique might work in this situation. I've read much about the technique for weathering but have not tried it and don't know if it would result in clean lines when the top paint layer is removed. Anyone tried hairspray for masking and/or think it would allow for clean smooth edging around the raised panels?

I have never used it myself in theory i guess you would be able to get a smooth edge i suspect you would need to use some tape as guide to keep it even. Its one of those pains trying to mask surfaces evenly so good luck hope this kind of helps
