DML's always been rather poorly represented in SA (in my opinion) - and it's due to poor representation by the importers, not the retailers or modellers. Most hobby stores do, however, carry a small selection of their kits though when they are available. Try Model Railway Specialists in Plumstead, or SpeedModels in the Century City mall.

IMO it'll be easier, quicker and cheaper to buy what you want from an online seller like LuckyModel.com in Hong Kong. I've bought stuff from them that, including postage and customs charges, still landed at about 60% of the price of the stuff in stores.

Down here in Durban Dragon models are pretty well represented in some of the hobby shops ,but the price's are scary.I still find it cheaper to get the stuff over the net.
Has any one tried Kalahari their prices are not that bad and they are local.

I've ordered Dragon figures through Kalahari. Prices are reasonable and delivery was quick. I've also noticed that they've increased their selection of Dragon stuff. Worth a look.

I asked my local hobby shop what was up with Dragon. Their answer was that Dragon only want to ship container loads of models & not by the box any more... so it appears that Dragon availability will be going the same way as Hasigawa soon

Spacey, slightly off topic, but what happened to SpeedModels? I was so happy that they had a large selection of Dragon stuff - as well as other hard to get items - and then suddenly they were gone.

Same store, different outlet. IIRC the Tygervalley outlet has never really kept 1/35 scale models. The Canal Walk branch used to though (when I was last there mid-2008). Bear in mind that, as the store name alludes to, that their speciality (and I use the term very loosely when it comes to that organisation) is RC cars and automobile models. The military models and RC aircraft that you see in the CW store came as a filler when the local market started requesting it - i.e. when Topflyte hobbies moved out of the Tygervalley mall into a backstreet shop in Durbanville while Johnny wrapped up his business.
