If you can't get any help on the forum, I can take this to the Japanese teacher at my school.

Oh great,, this would be with pleasure -I hope it would be one of those Russian destroyers destroyed at Tsushima or Port Artur, but I can't be sure.. It could also be an accident involving a Japanese boat etc..

If that is the case, I'll show the picture to my History teacher as well. We have just finished studying the Russo-Japanese War.

Are you having diorama thoughts about this pic?

Well, it's not a particularly impressive picture, it's just that I am pretty happy to have find that 100 years old Japanese postcard for a whooping 0.99£
Then I like it because of the emptiness of it except for the boat -when you zoom on it you can see people on the top etc.. There is ambience about it but nothing I would say is worth doing a diorama from.

JB,

You might try over on the ML Japanese forum.

Well for some reason I can't get the link to work from this page but ML isn't that hard to find and their Japanese Modeling forum is very helpful with questions like this.....

Thanks for the suggestion Charles -and Chas for the offer, but that's it, the mystery is over.
This is Russian cruiser Varyag as scuttled at Chemulpo. i have a bit of troubles identifying the hulk comparing with plans but that's what's being written on the postcard!

Thanks for viewing everybody
