Sounds like that is happening all over. Keep your chin up and stay positive. Something else will come along.

Sorry to hear about that Patrick. Take some time to regroup, refresh, and use some of that new freedom to enjoy some of the littler things you've wanted to do but never got around to doing. When you're ready to go land another job, have the plan in hand and expect your new job to be better than the last! I know you'll enjoy the best of luck.

I feel your pain. I've been trying to get a job since last year with no bites. My resume on Hot Jobs has been getting more looks from employers in the past few months. A friend told me it sounds like the drop in the economy here in the US is starting to slow down. We haven't hit bottom but we might be getting close.
If anything I have been able to actually build more models and do more reviews with more free time. Unfortunately, that doesn't pay the rent!

Pat contact any local security companies as most have vacancies at the current time, money is not great but it is better than nothing.

That really sucks, hopefully you will find something soon. In the meantime perhaps the Unemployment office has resources you can use to look for another job. But like the other poster said, one door closes and another one opens. I too was laid off as redundant in 2005, but it turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me. I went from an office which was EXACTLY like the one in the British TV series to working on film sets, which is a gas. Stay positive and I am sure you will persevere!

Patrick,
Sorry to hear the news. Keep your spirits up. As noted above. Something better may be just around the bend.

Sorry to hear that. In my case, my job has been reduced to 4 days a week as it has been for the past few months. Lucky I can still pay my mortgage.
