Hi all strange request time aimed at any U.S. or Australian vets from Vietnam. There was a song released in the mid sixties by a band called The crazy world of Arthur Brown the song was called Fire, what i would like to find out is if that song was known to the troops out there. My reason is I have academys vietnam 113 in the stash and it has the flame thrower cupola in the kit, i was thinking a good slogan to scrawl on the side would be the opening line to that song "I am the god of hell fire and i bring you fire".vague I know but worth a try.

Wasn't there so can't say for sure, but the song peaked at #7 on the charts in October 1968, I'm sure the young guys then would have been familiar with it. Heck, it's burned in my memory from back in the day.

Yeah, it was. Also another good 'jump song' was Light My Fire (I believe 'The Doors' - long version, instrumental was the most intense; heard it played in the C-130 as we approached the drop zone); lots of rock.

The song "Fire" was a one-hit wonder by Arthur Brown; the name of his album was "the Crazy World of Arthur Brown." I've never heard the rest of the album, though they say it's pretty good.
I was born in 1963, so I have no memory of any of this. But I'm kind of a Vietnam war freak. I think you have a great idea, for your M132.

"Fire"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8JGGKOjF8FU

I am the god of hell fire, and I bring you
Fire, I'll take you to burn
Fire, I'll take you to learn
I'll see you burn

You fought hard and you saved and earned
But all of it's going to burn
And your mind, your tiny mind
You know you've really been so blind
Now 's your time, burn your mind
You're falling far too far behind
Oh no, oh no, oh no, you're gonna burn

Fire, to destroy all you've done
Fire, to end all you've become
I'll feel you burn

You've been living like a little girl
In the middle of your little world
And your mind, your tiny mind
You know you've really been so blind
Now 's your time, burn your mind
You're falling far too far behind
Oohhh
Fire, I'll take you to burn
Fire, I'll take you to learn
You're gonna burn, you're gonna burn
You're gonna burn, burn, burn, burn, burn, burn, burn, burn, burn, burn, burn

Fire, I'll take you to burn
Fire, I'll take you to learn
Fire, I'll take you to bed
