im not sure, i think the darker sq with a lighter o is the desert rats emby, and i can see a slight shape inside,
unfortunately my book A short history of the 7AD dated from october 1931-may1943
the book is undated, but seemings it only covers these yeas, i think it was printed after the victory in North africa, the guy who took the pucs was in the 22 R.E.M.E. under the eighth army

The Firefly is a Sherman Ic Hybrid (firefly), I was actually doing some reference searching on this variant recently.
The dates, seem to be a bit off, as the hybrid hulls didn't really start showing up until 44'
I do agree the emblem on the back does look like the one that the 7th AD desert rats used.
Interesting.

Definitely a Firefly IC Hybrid (=composite hull) and to pour a bit of petrol on the fire, it looks from the position of the radio box on the turret rear, that it's a low bustle turret.
