Hi everybody,
In WW2, the US had the jeep, and the Germans had the Kubelwagen. What did the Japanese use for light transportation?
I need to make some vehicles for an IJN naval yard and am wondering if I could get away with cheating and using some jeeps. Finding vehicles in 1/700 scale has not been easy...
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ghengis Wong

Ghengis, the Japanese used a 3 seat Type 95 scout car (Kurogane `Black Medal`).
(this model is to 1/48 scale & made by a French firm, Propaganda Kompany, at http://propaganda.kompany.free.fr/ , I'm not sure if anyone does this in any other scale).
I suppose you could use captured jeeps, depending on when the diorama is set.

Thanks for the info everyone. Especially the picture. That helps a lot. Looks like the jeeps will stand out like a sore thumb, so I'll have to think of something else.
Keep on keepin on.

So that's where Noddy got his car...a Japanese grey import.

Now I know why they used bicycles, easier to push. That would never make it in rough terrain.

Hi Easy,
Unfortunately, I need them in 1/700 scale, so I'll probably scratch build something. Haven't seen much in the way of vehicles in that scale except a few by Skywave and White Ensign. As a side project, it would be interesting to do a 1/35 of something like this as it is not your most common project.
Thanks again to everyone for their help.
