A while back I read a post detailing how to thin squadron putty (I use the green stuff). I can't find the post and was wondering if anyone has had experience doing this. The question is what would be a good thinning agent to use? I want to thin it to the point that I can be apply with a brush to fill in small gaps (similar to using Mr Surfacer). Thanks in advance.

Good old fashion Testors liquid cement works fine.

Are you refering to Testors liquid cement that is applied with a brush or the kind that comes in the red tube?

Thanks !! I'll give it a try. I have an old bottle collecting dust since I started to use Tamiya's thin liquid cement.

It's best to mix it up in small batches. I use old soda bottle caps to mix it in, and use a glass eye dropper to transfer the liquid to the putty in the cap, and mix until I get the consistency I need. Too runny is no good. I also use either a disposable micro brush, or a tooth pick to apply the stuff.
