Hi I am Gary from New Zealand . I am just getting into Dioramas and I am a fanatic of ww2. I need help I have no Idea where to start . My first queston is what size kits to buy . !.72 seem way to small for a first timer . I was thinking 1 / 35 size
Tanks and infantry models.

Any info idea or LInks to website would be great . I would also like some idea on what to use for ground cover and also any ideas of how to make pill boxes.

thanks

I look foward to hearing from you Gary

Hi gary

First welcome to a great sight.

I believe 1/35th is the scale of most popular choice.

I recommend you get Shepherd Paines "How to Build Diormas" from Kalmach Publishing.

Cheers

Sean

Hi Gary I agree with Sean 1/35th is a great scale but you could also consider 1/48th, a little easyier to construct and considerably cheaper for a first timer and then when you get more confident try a 35th scale kit.
There are plenty of kits in 48th now with Tamiya's range.

I also agree with the book, I have it myself and its great. Can't help with where to find it in NZ but it is all over the net.

Hi Gary,
Welcome,
IIRC Takapuna public library has one on its shelves,or you could try the Auckland public library.
I've assumed you are in Auckland,If not I apologise now so I don't have to suffer through any Jaffa jibes.
Otherwise try your local library or even trade me.
