I have a kit that has some of that "chrome plating" on a sprue of parts. I would like to take it off, and use the metallic paints for the various metal and chrome parts for a more realistic treatment of the assemblies. Does anyone have an effective technique for removing this plating? I would be grateful to hear from anyone who has shared this experience and done it.
Thanks for your time,
Matt

Thanks a lot. That is a great explanation. I have a Tamiya Tyrell Elf Formula 1 car, and it has a bunch of the chromed sprues. I saw some photos of Tamiya's new Lotus 1:20 car, and the builder really did a nice treatment of the suspension, and engine with different metallic paints. This explanation really helps. One question: is the cat your set manager for this film?
Thanks again..very much appreciated,
Matt
