Awesome! Well done.
We have just moved and I now have my own modelling space - this will be one of my first projects so I can have a full-time AB set-up.
I've taken notes!

the induction motor was built to boost flow in heating/air conditioning duct work, they had various sizes, I used 8 inch diameter.so here in december in Idaho it has been as cold as -3 degrees outside and am still able to paint with no adverse issues, happy someone noticed my work.design is loosely based on Artograph 1530 hobby model paint booth, I built as downdraft to make the unit more compact with 8 inch blower.

I like it nice job.
Also like the Tambour desk to model on kind of high $$$ but good I guess.
The mountains and clouds now this requires a little more explanation.

Lovely room paint eh? it was used as a baby room by previous owner, to lazy to remodel so far.the desk was given to us by my brother inlaw, they had no use for it, has worked out quite well.the booth cabinet was a castoff from the hospital I work at.

Wow, this is great! A paint booth is so far one of the tools I just have not yet been unable to get. Your set up is great and would love some more detail pics of it if you can. Also, would you mind elaborating a bit about the motor you used (type, price, where you got it, etc)? Very impressive indeed!

purchased at home depot, it has been awhile I believe it was about $30.00, 8" diameter hvac ducting induction motor, they had 4", 8" and 12" If I recall correctly.not all home depots have extensive ducting so I went crosstown to the other home depot,I will try to get more photos posted..so complicated I forgot how to....I am getting old and PC skills elude me the motor/fan is used to boost flow to the hvac registers, This motor appealed to me since trhe motor windings are insulated and thus somewhat explosion proof...not as good as booth motors that have the motor not in line with explosive fume flow however this motor is like some of the passche booths so good enough it seems.wired up the motor with proper power cord and used metal duct tape to seal up to plenum. The flow rate is as good or better than most booths, I cannot find info online from home depot....

Nicely done. I like the down-draft design. It is reminiscent of the fume hoods used in the labs where I used to work. Keeps the nasty stuff out of your face.
Again, well done!
