My son told me about this place between Kilcullen and Castledermot in Sth Kildare at a place called "Crookstown"!!!! Anyway, he said theres loads of trains and cars but also planes, ships etc. Tried googling but very little information on the web. Will visit it next weekend and report, but just wondering if anyone else knew anything?

Ok, if you're not into trains it's not worth the visit. I should have guessed by the name! There were about 10 non-train kits in the whole place....

Railway Store in Crookstown, Co.Kildare closed down about a year or possibly more at this stage.
The premises is now a medical centre.

Damn, that's a pity. I was in it in April '07 and while not catering to my tastes I spend about half an hour chatting with the owner. A real nice guy. But I just couldn't imagine that many train set fans in his cachement area.

Are you aware of any other places in the Carlow/Kildare area Vincent?

Sean, it's a bit of a wasteland over this way with regard to model shops, I usually get any thing I need in Dublin when I am up there or online. I do get over to Telford in November so I try to stock up on as much as possible when there.
