Fun draiser.

In an effort to raise money for "Scale Model Addict" Scott Girvan's African well appeal, I would like to present a raffle! Scott is a "youtuber" who is donating all the profits from his scale modelling show to the construction of a well in Africa. Click to visit Scott's youtube channel.

The Raffle.

The goal is to raise $200 Australian dollars (approx $150 US). For every dollar you donate, one ticket in your name will be placed in a raffle box. At the end of the donation period (i.e when $200 has been raised), two tickets will be drawn and the two winners will receive prizes.

First Place:

Warpigs: Jeff Herne at Modelers' Warehouse will donate a full set of Warpigs Piglets to the cause, valued at $60.00US.

See here: http://www.modelerswarehouse.com/warpigs/piglets.html

Knives: Two handmade custom knives of the winners choice, as made by Steve Wheeler, from Wheeler Sculpting & Knives. Valued at $250US each.

A Scale Model Addict T-shirt (SMA or Nerd Herd style). Offered by Scott Girvan.

Second Place:

JBA's model: This very special prize is an early work done by the accomplished diorama maker Jean-Bernard André. 'JBA' is considered by many as one of the best modellers on the planet. After viewing his evocative diorama work, it is hard to disagree. Click to visit JBA's website.

A SMA tuque of the winner's choice (orange or black). Offered by Scott Girvan.

How to donate/ entering the raffle.

You can donate using the Paypal donate button on my blog (in the right hand margin). Click to visit my blog and donate.

The more you donate, the better your chances of winning the raffle prizes. For example, if you donate $5, five tickets will be entered in your name. If you donate $20, twenty tickets will be entered in your name etc. This is your chance to support the African well cause, win cool merchandise, win an early work by JBA or two custom made knives!

My promise!

All of the $200 will be donated to Scale Model Addict's appeal. I will take screenshots of the donation process to assure you that what I am doing is genuine.

I've never known such a quiet bunch! Raffles are fun!

Remember, you can donate as little or as much as you like. I need to find a home for this merchandise, kindly offered as a prize by Scott Girvan.

oh Chas, I didn't see your thread So let me please precise the thing!
This was a dio I did in '99, the last one between my first series and the new one starting 2005. The tank was stuck in some water. but in the end I decided that the water work was awful as well as the idea which is a bit weak. So what you get here is a seriously damaged bit of diorama. the fig is okay, but the front of the tank used to be "underwater" so is basically unpainted and really worth hiding under sand, sea, mud, whatever you want! Som parts of the tank have to be repainted like the tracks for instance. etc..

That's cool, it does look like a gem of a model though. I'm sure the winner will appreciate it as a *collectors item* or maybe put it into a diorama...

Cheers Alex.

I have just received a package from JBA containing his model donated to the fundraiser.

I spent about 10 minutes staring at it, mesmerised! Although JB won't say so, it's an outstanding piece of craftsmanship. The winner will be a very lucky person.

Hi Martyn,

Steve says: "Been shipping them all over the World for the last 16 years. Don't anticipate problems."

That was a harsh comment of mine, I really didn't mean it! If you put it in the bin, you have something seriously wrong with your mind!
