I'm planning to scratchbuild/kitbash a paperpanzer, the Grille 12.

In 1943 there were a series of conceptual designs from Krupp that featured waffentragers with dismountable howitzers, the Grille 12 was one of them.

But i'm puzzled over these bars at the side of the vehicle. In the book 'Panther Variants' the author states that 'A beam either side of the vehicle was attached to this turret. the beams with the turret could be slid rearwards so that the turret could be lowered to the ground'.

For example when you look at the Heuschreke, the lifting mechanism is obvious. But would such a system be able to carry the turret+gun? I don't think so.




So how would such a system look like / work? Being a non-technical guy i haven't got a clue

Anyone?
