what is the name of the molding clay or putty that every one use's to do zimmit and custom figures also other things like weld beads and seam filling. really need to know where i can get this stuff. i build model cars and want to start making custom body parts so what putty/clay would i use i think it comes in a tooth paste style tube. any help would be great. and also what and where can i find the sheets of white plastic every one uses for scratch building parts?

thanks i might try it, but would it be best for scratch building the body kits for my model cars?
also dose any one know where i can get the sheet styrene online.

For sheet styrene, a quick web search gave me these two online stores of many possible sites:

But it really depends on who you want to buy from...

If you are molding or scratching full bodies for your cars, you may want to go to a molding process or vacu-form system.

no not whole bodys, just after market body kits and other
parts that i will add on to a model car body.

wow that book will really help cause i want to produce my own custom parts to sell on the car modeling forum so i can help finance my model hobby..lol

I wasn't trying to imply that it did come in a tube. I remembered that other modelers use Miliput for sculpting and scratch building.

you might also try Apoxie Sculpt. I use it and think it's great.
