Hey Guy's. Just recieved my 1/35 Trumpeter WR360-C12 Diesel Shunter. It will form part of a complete train Im building. I've almost finished the BR52 Loco from the same manufacturer . I have a stash of dragon and Ironside flatcars, gondola's and box cars along with extra track. The theme of the train centres around the Trumpeter Morser-Karl Garrett on Rail transporter. I also have the two Pzkpfw IV Fahrgestell loaders each morter needed, flack guns for the pusher wagon and midway down the train, figures , light trucks etc etc. Anyone else out there modelling German WW2 rail ?. Pictures as I progress.

Huge. I'm going to build it in modules. The Trumpeter track comes in sections, so I'm going to build it in 1metre lengths that can be cliped together when I take it to shows etc. Trumpeter are going to issue the old dragon flatcars and gondola's this year so that will keep the cost down I hope. I have enough stock to fill seven metres of track at the moment. Trumpeter are also releasing more steam loco's this year. The BR86 will be a stunner, and I'll probably start another train with it. Not sure what the theme will be , i'll just go with the flow.

Hey Thomo, Havent looked as far ahead as September. What show are we talking about. I'm not a member of any clubs so am not up to speed on events etc. My enthusiasm comes and goes so I never set myself any deadlines. LOL. the Trumpeter kits can be quite laborous and fidly and I find I need a break from time to time. The BR52 is finally finished, and Ive started the WR360 ( which is a lot less complicated than the BR52 ) and I hope to get the Morser underway next.Pics soon.

You need to go to photobucket or similar (its free) load your Pic's there and thenyou will be able to transfer them to Armorama.

The Show is in Wellington 4-5 Sept if I remember correctly. Its good to be with aclub and it give you the go to finish things, most of the time.

Hey Guy's. Well I've tried following the step by step instructions to post pics but confess to my nearly 60 year old brain goes vacant. I'll get one of the young fulla's at work to come round and teach me. !!!!!. Sort of hoping it would be as easy as Trademe or evilbay. Sigh.
In the meantime if you would like to see my work just email me at [email protected] and I'll send some pics. Put Train pics in the title.
Just a couple of quick comments re the Shunter . It's a lot easier to build than the normal Trumpeter kits (22 hours from go to wo ). Some glaring ommisions tho.
1. There are no markings for the engine at all. The German Railway was independent of the armed forces, but would still have had I.D. stenciling for marshelling purposes.
2. The couplings are to small to allow operation, IE: the shackles arn't long enough to actually hook it to a wagon. The shackles fowl the tow hook. Strange considering that on the BR52 and Karl-Garat there the right size ?.
3. No bearing end caps for the driving rods. Very noticable, but one of the etch people will no doubt rectify the problem.
The shunter and BR52 are finished and Ive started the Morser Karl - Garat. Lost count of how mant times Ive had my nose burried in the carpet looking for tiny pieces that have flown from the tweezers, hahahaha
