Looking through pictures, German soldiers had that distinctive haircut. How did that come about? Was it a "Pure" haircut?

I don't think ideology had anything to do with it. Probably fashion of the 30s and 40s was the primary factor...jim

I think it was the bowl look, put a bowl on their heads and shave anything that protuded
