Fabio

Thanks for the compliment. About writing an Article, I personally don’t think I have close to the skill required for that. Most of what I do is hit and miss at this stage. The weapons I am able to convert are pretty easy. The only technique at this stage is to find something in the same / similar scale that is close to what you want. For the Mp5s I got G3s and cut them down. The other items, such as the Savage (Ultimate sniper stock) was cut from plastic card, then cut to a close shape and finally filed to the correct shape. The same for the M21 and HK MSG90.

As far as the MG 42/59, all the MG42s except for the ammo chambered are almost identical. I only build weapons not readily available, there are numerous kits out there with the MG42 in them, Tamiya’s German weapons is one of them. If you have difficulty getting hold of some, drop me a message and I will send a few off to you.

The 42/59 is quite different from the WWII one, is the one currently in use with Italian and a few oters EU armies...

Hi Fabio

All I can say is oops, the only modern mg42 (which I was led to believe is the Mg42/59) I have seen was mounted on a Leopard 2.

If you have a few photos or a reference site I might be able to help. #:-)

Nice job. Good solid conversions - you hit the primary way of getting it done - scratch build.

The other way is ebay.
