G'day all,
I'm coming back into Melbourne on the 5th of March and wanted to see if anyone was keen to meet up for a beer.
I believe Tarok (Rudi) and LestWeForget (Dave) will be interested (Dave this time there will be no beer induced vomits, girly bars or breaking up fights between doormen and patrons armed with planks of wood. It was quite a night indeed.)
Sound off if your interested in a quiet catchup over a few ales.
Cheers

Andy, I'm not sure if this is showing on the LP page... if not or not much response I'll repost it in the general modelling forum
So Dave.... just another night in Pakenham was it?!?

Sounds great.
I never go to these sorts of things because 1: There aren't enough modellers in W.A and 2: All you drink is frikin beer!
Cordial, anyone?

You're hanging out in all the wrong places. There are many armour modellers in Perth. Most of them did (and still do) belong to PMMS. I always mange to catch up with a few on the rare occasions I get to visit Perth

Yup, I guess it's that whole reading a calendar (or anything with them beg wurds) that's tripping you up

Come now, Chas, that's not true now is it? We also drink other big boy drinks like Guiness, ales, scotch, whiskey, etc... except for Brad... who likes drinks with little umbrellas

Ah ha, but I would rather hang out with figure modellers...

I am probably in a similar situation as I very rarely make the 50km trek to Perth.

Chas can you move this to the Junk Drawer?
Also, Chas, it doesn't matter who you hang out with, as long as it's modellers

I will contact staff_jim and find out why our posts aren't appearing on the LP.
In the meantime, I've moved this to Spare Parts as requested.
Good luck and have fun!

Guys
Have a few drinks for the rest of us who can't get to Melbourne. And not too many more stories about fence posts - as that sounds like what I get to hear from my customers at work
.
Dave - good to see a post from you. I've been AWOL for the last few months with ISP and PC problems. Now I'm back on the net and with a new PC I don't have you on MSN any more - or Skype for that matter. Can you send me a PM with the details so I can add you and we might get to catch up occasionally.

Okay, so we're still on right?
Dave, no copping out at the last moment to "buy" a "car" from a "guy", okay?
Anyone have any ideas for a venue? The Lion again? Central's pretty, well, central for all I think...

UPDATE
Venue: Melbourne Central Lion Hotel, 211 La Trobe Street, Melbourne (in the Central shopping centre, above the Central railway station - and yes... it's central to all in central Mel'city.... did I mention it's central?
)
Time: 18.00
Date: Thursday 5 March 2009 (the year is just in case anyone was uncertain
)
Their prices are average - no better or worse than most other places in the city, I reckon. They put on a pretty good feed.

Have fun I'll be thinking of you guys while I drop my son off at work - or football training - or whatever it is he does on a Thursday night. Isn't it great being a kiddie taxi driver
Then again he is 16 in August and will be wanting his learners
I hope the cold front and rain they are talking about on the weather tonight hits you guys soon and calms the fires.
See our premier has called an election for 21 March and 1/3 of the State is still under water and at least 4 weeks before most of the roads are clear. Thank goodness I am no longer a returning officer.Brian
