Hi... I'm new to the site here, getting (slowly!) back into building aircraft models after many years away.

Where's the "hub" for aircraft modellers in Vancouver? Is there one?

Hi,

I model armor but the stores I go to are Imperial hobbies, burnaby hobbies, on track hobbies. I have heard that apollo(I think thats how you spell apollo) hobbies in Vancouver has a good stock of aircraft.

HI There,
Well, the stores stocking aircraft - in no particular order -
Burnaby Hobbies on Rumble Street in Burnaby
Fine Scale Models in North Vancouver
Magic box hobbies on west boulevard and 37th Ave. in Kerrisdale, Vancouver
Imperial Hobbies on No 3 Road in Richmond across from Landsdowne mall.
Michaels's craft stores in various locations (use their 40% off coupon if you can get their weekly flyer).
There is a great place in Richmond for aircraft related books, posters, resources and magazines off the end of the South Runway - I will have to check for the name and address for you unless someone else from Vancouver knows the place. It used to sell aircraft models but they have gotten out of that.
I hope this helps.
You could also come out to the local IPMS Vancouver meetings once a month to meet other people who make models. They meet in Burnaby at Bonsor Rec. centre. Those guys are great to share ideas and can help you out as you get back into the hobby.

Cheers,
Eric

HI There,
The place I was talking about in Richmond is
"Aviation World"

105-6080 Russ Baker Way
Richmond, BC V7B 1B4
(604) 718-7400

They have tons of references for military and civilian aircraft. While out in Richmond, check out Imperial Hobbies on No 3 road.
Cheers,
Eric
