That looks awesome so far Rob. I had built the New Connections conversion kit a few years ago, but it wasn't as detailed as what you've done here. Your right, there isn't much info out there on that vehicle, lots of guess work. Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing the finished model.

Rob,
Very kool subject...one in a sense I'm working on...'cept the flak will be on top of an armored rail car. Where did you pull the picture of the interior bracing/platform? I've copied that for future reference.
I'm liking what you've done with the flak's armor...very nice.
"Fav'd" to keep an eye on this one.

Thanks all for the compliments!
@Mike: I should have mentioned that i took the liberty of assuming that the germans didn't invent the wheel twice, that they presumably took the concept from the wirbelwind (based on the Pz4 chassis), since it seems the same concept in that the turret is also rotatable and all. So... it might or might not be true...

I'm curious as to how it rotates. It looks like the shield is fixed in place and attached to the hull and with the barrels of the gun squared within the shielding, how does it turn?
Otherwise, the scratchbuilding looks really good.
Just curious, Cuhail

@Cuhail
I believe the armorturret is actualy attached to the base of the flak? Since the flak already has an rotatemechanism?
In this picture...
...It's as if you can look underneath the turret.
If you search the net you can find some models that have the attachment simular to mine, although some drawings/models indicate that is was infact mounted on the turretring. Hmmm...
It seems to me it would be a bit awkward to have two rotating mechanisms at the same time?

No pardon neccisary, your English was fine.
A second, closer look at your model told me exactly what you said. It's attached to the rotating turret. It was this picture that confused me, I think. I didn't notice the spars going diagonal from the sides of the armor to the turret base.
But, looking at the other pictures, I stand corrected.
Again, looks great to me. Cuhail

Finally found a way to do a softedge camo with the brush. I think it turned out ok, if i say so myself. It needs a little touch-up, but the basis is allright with me.
Wow thanks for sharing this project! I love all the different ways the T-34 chassis was re-imagined in the field and through it's long history! Very inspiring!
