A tradition of the British Army at the end of a day on the ranges, also the title of the funniest book that I've ever read about the military. I remember my basic training really clearly, and this book has it to a 'T'.
Look out for it in bookshops, amazon or whatever as it's a killer - I've lent my copy out so I can't remember who wrote it.

I always like getting the new privates to go fetch the brass magnet from the CQ.
