Hi All.
I was reading Terris' Alb/D.Va STRIPE build and it raised a question I've been pondering. When stripping the paint how do you protect the cockpit from being ruined, particularly as its almost impossible to either get a good finish to reapply paint or you cant reach parts to paint because its' assembled?
Tips please
Chris

Hi Chris !
You can mask off the opening or have tissue paper in the cockpit or both . None was used when the finish was removed on my build . For the large areas I soaked a q-tip in thinner and rubbed it on the surface , let it set for a few sec's and start rubbing . Apply thinner as needed . When it comes to working around the openings I only use a damp q-tip , work slow . For getting into the panel lines an old tooth brush was used and for around any raised detail . When all paint is gone wash in soap water and let air dry . Before repainting wipe the surface with clean thinner , let dry and respray .
I guess I should also say that I used enamel thinner , works for acrylics as well .
hope this helps you ...................
