My local IPMS Club (Patriot Chapter) decided on a club build to be completed in December. The theme will be "It Floats". This means a boat, seaplane, amphibious vehicle, even a VW Beetle (I guess they used to show the Bug floating in commercials back in the 60s). Sounded like a cool idea to me and gives me a reason to slap my Tamiya LVTP7 together, although I am tempted to do my M109 howitzer since it was designed to float up until the A2 variant.

BTW, my luck's holding on strong. I won the Academy M3A1 Stuart in the club raffle!

I'm partial to the M109 idea - would like to see that one modeled.

Sabot firt of all congrats for your luck. If you want to do something floating and doing weird things you can replicate what I was doing after a day shooting tons of HESHs on the beach with my Leopards in Capo Teulada (Sardinia). After a couple of hundreds rounds shot, we bought a fishing (20 meters or so) net and with two M113s we held the two ends of the net, got in the sea and then collected the fish killed by the rounds exploded in the water... A few times we invited also colleagues of you that were in the same training premises to the mega fish barbecues we had!!!
Ciao

Rob,
If you wanted to get really adventurous you could try your hand at a Sheridan making its way across a pond....I would love to see that.. heh heh. "Q" Former Sheri commander

Yeah, but I have an M109, LVTP7 and more Brad and 113 chassises than I can shake a stick at. Don't want to buy a soda can with gun.

I wonder how many Italeri DUKWs will be painted in civy colors to match the DUCK rides in Boston?

I think that was true theme they were going for. Most of the guys work in and around the city and run across the brightly colored Ducks on a daily basis.
